Testing a field service software connection

A connection to job-management software only helps if it is tested end to end with your own account and settings.

01

The decision to make first

Decide what the connection should do first, for example create a job request or look up the next open slot, and what must stay manual.

02

Check access and feasibility

ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber and similar tools each need account access and permissions. Until a feasibility test passes, Ava sends requests to the AssistCall inbox instead.

03

Suggested wording to approve

Example wording for the team: “During the test, every request also arrives by email so nothing is lost if the connection fails.”

04

Test the difficult case

Disconnect the integration during a test call. The request should still reach the team through the fallback route.

05

Worked example

Fictional example: in a test, Ava creates a job request in the software with the trade, area and callback number; the office checks that it appears in the right list and that nothing was booked automatically.

06

Review it in operation

Keep the email fallback for the first weeks and compare both routes before relying on the connection alone.

Check before you launch

  • Choose the first action for the connection.
  • Confirm access and a feasibility test.
  • Test a disconnected integration.
  • Keep a fallback route at first.
