Effective 7 November 2026
This notice explains what happens to information on avaforhomeservices.com: when you book a demo, send us a message, try the Ava demo, or call a home services business that uses Ava. It sits alongside the AssistCall privacy policy, which covers the AssistCall service and account.
Who we are
Ava for Home Services is an industry service by AssistCall, a Starling Global product. In this notice, "we" and "us" mean Starling Global, 88-30 238th Street, Queens, NY 11426, which runs AssistCall. Privacy questions: [email protected].
"Customers" are the HVAC, electrical, roofing, cleaning, pest control, landscaping, handyman, garage door, appliance repair and other home services businesses that use Ava. "Callers" are the homeowners, tenants and property managers who contact those businesses.
When you book a demo
The booking page at /book/ asks for:
- your name, work email, phone, business name, role and (optionally) website;
- your answers about the business: trades, team size, service area, which calls you want covered, weekly call volume, job-management software and any notes;
- the time you pick, video or phone, and your time zone;
- your agreement to be contacted about the request, with the time you gave it.
Your browser sends this to the AssistCall booking service through this website. It goes into the AssistCall sales inbox and CRM, tagged with this site, the country version and the page you used, so the team can prepare for the call. We email you a confirmation with a calendar invite and, where the booking service supports it, a link to reschedule or cancel. The sales team receives a notification of the booking.
When you send a message or ask for a callback
Contact, pilot and callback forms collect the same contact details plus your message and answers. They land in the same AssistCall sales inbox and you get an email acknowledgement. If you ask for a callback, we call the number you gave about your request. If Ava makes that call, it says at the start that it is an AI and that the call is recorded. Agreeing to be contacted is never a condition of buying anything.
To protect the forms from abuse, we check where each request comes from, apply rate limits by IP address and use a hidden spam trap field. IP address and browser information may be kept in security logs.
Booking a demo or sending a form does not sign you up for marketing emails or text messages.
When you try the demo
The demo builds a temporary business profile from the business name, website or public phone number you enter, using public information. You review and approve that profile, then try Ava by chat, in your browser or by phone.
- Use fictional caller details only. Do not enter real customer names, home addresses, gate or alarm codes, or payment details.
- We keep the temporary profile, the demo chat and any available voice transcript for up to 24 hours so you can review the result, and you can delete the demo at any time from the demo page.
- The demo does not record call audio.
- Phone demo codes expire after 10 minutes and work once. After a successful connection, your calling number is stored only as a keyed hash so Ava can recognise it for up to two hours.
- A session cookie (ava_demo) links your browser to your demo for up to 24 hours.
- The demo does not connect to any real calendar, job-management system or technician, and cannot book, dispatch, take payments or send messages.
- Demo pages and conversations are excluded from website analytics.
When you call a business that uses Ava
If you call a home services business that uses Ava, the call is answered on that business's behalf. Depending on how the business has set Ava up, the call record can include your phone number, call time and length, a recording, a transcript and summary, and details you share, such as your name, service address and ZIP code, the problem, equipment details, access notes and the visit window you prefer. That information goes to the business, which uses it to call you back, route urgent work to its on-call staff or book your visit.
The business decides what Ava asks and who receives the information. We process caller information on the business's behalf as its service provider. If you ask us about your call information, we may refer you to that business. We advise every business not to have Ava collect alarm codes, lockbox codes, full card numbers or Social Security numbers.
Call recording
Calls to a business's Ava number are recorded and transcribed so the business can review them. Some states, including California, Florida, Pennsylvania and Washington, require every party to agree to a recording. We recommend that every business includes a recording notice in Ava's greeting. Each business is responsible for the notices and consent its calls need.
Text messages
This website does not send text messages. Text updates from businesses to their customers are a Planned feature. When it is available, texts will only be sent with the consent that federal and state rules require and after carrier registration. We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or text consent with anyone for marketing.
Cookies, storage and analytics
- Network and security. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and block attacks.
- Location note. When a page loads, your browser asks Cloudflare which country your connection comes from. If it looks like you are in the UK, we show a note linking to the UK site. That check stays in your browser. If you dismiss the note or choose a site, the choice is saved in your browser's local storage, and you can clear it at any time.
- Analytics. If website analytics is offered on this site, it uses Google Analytics and starts only after you choose Allow analytics. It is not loaded at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. It measures page paths and general browser and device information, never form entries or demo conversations. Its cookies last up to 90 days, your choice is remembered for 180 days, and advertising personalization and Google Signals are turned off. See the Website analytics page for details.
- This site does not load advertising pixels.
How we use information
- To schedule and hold your demo, answer your message and follow up about AssistCall.
- To run the demo you asked for.
- To provide the Ava service to customers: answering calls, capturing jobs, routing urgent calls and booking visits as each business instructs.
- To keep the website, forms and service secure and working, and to improve them.
- To meet legal obligations and protect our rights and the rights of others.
Who we share it with
We use service providers that process information on our behalf and only to provide their service: hosting and network security (including Cloudflare), telephony and voice processing, the Ava AI engine and the providers that run it, email delivery, analytics (only with your permission) and, for customers, payment processing. They must protect the information under their agreements with us.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use call recordings to advertise to you or to callers.
How long we keep it
- Demo profiles, chats and transcripts: up to 24 hours, or until you delete the demo.
- Booking and enquiry records: while we are talking with you about AssistCall and for a reasonable period afterwards to keep a record of what was discussed and agreed. Ask us and we will delete them sooner, unless we need to keep something for a legal reason.
- Customer account and call data: for as long as the customer's account is active or as needed to provide the service. When an account closes, we delete or anonymize its data within a reasonable period, except records needed for legal, tax or accounting obligations.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) and the laws of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and other states may give you the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, or its use for targeted advertising (we do none of these);
- not be treated differently for using your rights.
Email [email protected] to make a request. We will confirm your request through the email address or phone number we have for you, and you can use an authorized agent. If we decline a request and your state gives you a right to appeal, reply to our decision and ask for an appeal. If your request is about a call you made to a business that uses Ava, we may pass it to that business, because it controls that call information.
Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls and limits on who can see customer data. No online service is perfectly secure, so please tell us at once if you think something is wrong.
Children
This site and AssistCall are business services and are not directed at children under 16.
Changes
We may update this notice as the service changes. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, let customers know by email.
