What Ava does
After hours, overflow or all day, on the schedule you choose. Callers hear your approved greeting instead of voicemail.
Name, callback number, service address, ZIP code, trade and the problem in the caller's words, in one summary your office can act on.
No heat, no AC, a leaking roof or a door stuck open follows your on-call path: primary tech, backup, then a clear callback request.
Tune-ups, cleanings and estimate visits go into one tested schedule. Without one, Ava records a booking request with the preferred window.
Service area, hours, the work you take on and your service-call policy. If Ava doesn't know, it says so and takes a message.
Recording, transcript and summary for each call in your AssistCall account.
Job-management connections · Text updates to your customers Not live yet. Switched on only after it is built and tested on your account.
How it works
We agree every step with you before a single call is forwarded.
Tell us your trades, service area and the calls you miss. We agree pricing for your business on the call.
Choose the questions Ava asks, what counts as urgent and who gets the call, in what order.
Run an out-of-area caller, a missed transfer and a routine booking before any real call reaches Ava.
AI Employee vs AI receptionist
Both answer the phone. The difference shows up at 9 pm, when a no-AC call needs the on-call tech and a tune-up request needs a time.
| Task | Basic AI receptionist | Ava for Home Services · AI Employee |
|---|---|---|
| Answering | Reads a greeting and offers to take a message. | Answers on your schedule with your approved greeting and asks the questions your office would ask. |
| Job details | Name, number and a short note. | Service address, ZIP code, trade, the problem in the caller's words, equipment and access notes, in one summary. |
| Urgent calls | The message waits until someone checks it. | Follows your on-call tree: primary tech, backup, then an honest callback request. |
| Service area | Takes every caller, wherever they are. | Checks the ZIP codes and trades you cover and handles out-of-area callers without promising a visit. |
| Routine booking | Promises someone will call back to schedule. | Books into one tested schedule, or records a booking request with the preferred window. |
| Customer questions | Repeats a fixed script. | Answers from the facts you approve, such as hours and your service-call policy, and says so when it doesn't know. |
| Safety calls | Treats a gas smell like any other message. | Gives your approved safety instruction to leave and call 911 or the gas utility, then alerts your on-call path. |
| Review | A message in an inbox. | Recording, transcript and summary for every call in your AssistCall account. |
Ava does the front-desk work that keeps a job moving, inside rules you approve. It never dispatches on its own, quotes work you haven't priced or takes card details.

Script illustration, not a recording of a live call.
Yes. Ava introduces itself as an AI assistant for your business in a greeting you approve. What most callers care about is that someone answers, takes the details correctly and tells them what happens next. If a caller asks for a person, Ava follows your transfer or callback rules.
Not as a standard feature yet. Those connections are Planned and need account access and a feasibility test for your setup. Today Ava captures a complete job request in your AssistCall inbox, or books routine visits into one tested schedule. We never assume a connection works until it has passed a test.
Ava does not diagnose hazards or give repair advice. Your approved script tells the caller to get everyone out and call 911 or the gas utility from a safe place, and Ava then follows your on-call path so your team knows. Ava is not an emergency service and does not replace 911.
You choose the words that make a call urgent and the order of people to try, for example the on-call tech, then a backup, then the owner. Ava transfers to those approved numbers. If nobody answers, Ava tells the caller the request is logged and someone will call back. It never says a technician is on the way unless your team has accepted the job.
With busy and no-answer forwarding set up, the calls your office can't take go to Ava instead of voicemail. Every caller gets the same intake questions and their own summary, and your urgency rules decide which go to the on-call path first. We agree how many calls at once your setup covers, and what happens beyond that, before the season starts.
Only the figures you approve, such as your published service-call or diagnostic fee policy. Ava does not estimate repairs, replacements or roof work. It records the quote request with the details your estimator needs and tells the caller when to expect a call back.
